Zoom App Help Videos

Zoom App Installation & Running

This page shows you how to download and install the Zoom application that we will be using to present our online broadcasts to you as part of the Teacher Training Weekends

You do not need to watch all of them.  Pick the setup that you have:  iPhone, Mac Desktop, Windows PC – and then follow the guide showing you how to install and run the App

Once you have the App installed joining a Zoom ‘Meeting’ is just a case of entering the meeting number that we will provide you.  You do not need to register with Zoom in order to do this, you simply join the meeting and wait for it to start.

If you join a meeting before it starts you will be held in a ‘Wait Room’ until the presenter starts the meeting.  This should be on or shortly after the alloted time given by the timetable

During any meeting we please ask you to mute your microphone to avoid any external background noise being broadcast to everyone as this can make it difficult for some to hear what is being said.

Remember to unmute your microphone when the time comes for you to talk.

If you do not have a microphone you can use the App’s chat option instead and you can use this, for example, to ask a question.  Remember that the presenter may not actually be watching a Zoom application at their end so please be patient whilst your question is passed to them (possibly at the end of the presentation).

Please do not leave downloading and checking the Zoom App until the last minute as we may not be able to assist you at short notice.  We are hoping to do a dry-run meeting before the first training session proper so you can check you can check and see us ok!

Note that you will not be able to connect to any meeting until we’re on the other end!
